Bids must be submitted in a sealed envelope clearly marked “Construct Taxilane – Phase I (170’ x 25’), at the Machias Valley Airport, AIP Project No. 3-23-0029-XX- 2024”. The proposed work may include but is not necessarily limited to: The construction of the 170’ x 25’ Taxilane I; including erosion control, unclassified excavation, rock excavation, grading, edge reflectors, storm drainage, installation of subbase and base gravels, paving, marking, as well as other ancillary items. Please take notice: Any bid received at the Town of Machias Office after 4:00 p.m. on the due date will not be considered. Bids received via facsimile or electronically will not be considered. Bid proposals must be submitted in duplicate (one original and one exact copy). The Town reserves the right to reject any and all bids submitted and to waive any informality. An on-site walk-through will be held at the Machias Valley Airport on Wednesday, April 10, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. local time. A virtual pre-bid meeting will be held on Wednesday, April 10, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. local time, via Zoom meeting. Representatives of Owner and Engineer will go through the project’s scope of work and be available to discuss the project as well as any bidder questions. Bidders are strongly encouraged to attend and participate in the conference as well as visit the site.
