The issuance of this Funding Opportunity in no way constitutes a commitment by IDPH to award a contract. Excerpts from the RFP: Purpose The purpose of this Request for Proposal (RFP) # 58823027 is to
solicit applications that will enable the Iowa Department of Public Health (referred to as Department) to select the most qualified applicants to provide services that apply the Strategic Prevention Framework (SPF) to address the substance use prevention priorities of reducing excessive adult alcohol misuse and preventing alcohol-involved deaths. The Department is actively working to strengthen capacity to address health inequities in Iowa. Health equity is defined as supporting opportunities for everyone to live the healthiest life possible through the reduction of barriers in environmental, social, economic and other conditions which impact health. This grant promotes health equity through the SPF model and its guiding principle step Cultural Competency which adheres to and promotes 15 Cultural and Linguistic Appropriate Service (CLAS) Standards. Use of CLAS is a way to improve the quality of services provided to all individuals, which will ultimately help reduce health disparities and achieve health equity.
