The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Kansas City District, has a need for Tainter Gate Drive Shaft Maintenance Services at Tuttle Creek Lake, Kansas. The work includes mechanical alignment of the spillway Tainter Gate Drive Shafts and incidental related Tainter Gate work. The spillway section of Tuttle Creek consists of 18 Tainter Gates that are driven by 19 individual 2 HP motors (18 primary, 1 auxiliary). Each section of Tainter Gates has 6 coupled drive shafts and 6 pillow block bearings, plus 2 couplings on the auxiliary motor side (218 total) that require adjustment within specified tolerances by shimming the associated components.
