SummaryThe Town of Manchester Water & Sewer Department (MWDS) has identified the need to install a plain and trussed monorail fall protection system with gantry cranes on the sedimentation basins at the Globe Hollow Water Treatment Plant. We are seeking proposals from qualified Contractors for fabrication, delivery, installation, and training on a Fall Protection System design provided in this proposal. Engineered fall protection systems such as DBI/Sala or MSA will be given priorityThe target implementation date for this service is January 1, 2023 and completion of work should be no later than six (6) months after start of work.2. BackgroundThe Globe Hollow Water Treatment Plant (GHWTP) uses a sedimentation basin containing four single chambers to remove precipitated solids from the drinking water. Sediments are removed by a chain driven aluminum

framed float. Occasional maintenance requires water treatment operators to walk out over the water on an approximately 6-inch-wide concrete wall that separates the individual sedimentation chambers. The proposed fall protection system will prevent operators from falling into the water or contacting the float while performing maintenance. MANDATORY SITE VISIT - A mandatory pre-bid site visit is required of all interested bidders. The Town will not accept proposals from companies who do not attend.
