The Federal Transit Administration (FTA) provides funding under Section 5311(f) of Title 49, United States Code (https://uscode.house.gov/) for states “to carry out a program to develop and support intercity bus transportation.” In Nevada, intercity bus service is a vital link between otherwise isolated rural communities and the rest of the state. Project Scope:Goals of the project- Improve rural resident access to the products, services, amenities, healthcare, employment, education, and recreation afforded by urbanized areas in the state. Increase public awareness of the service through an intercity bus marketing program. Assist in the development of feeder routes through cooperation with new or existing local transit providers or human services agencies to provide rural residents with greater access to the regional or national intercity network.
