This synopsis is issued in accordance with FAR 5.101(a) and FAR 5.207. This proposed action is for the procurement of the St. Jude Medical spinal cord stimulator implant system for a spinal procedure.
The Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1).
This proposed procurement will be a sole source award under North American Industry Classification System Code (NAICS) 334510 Electromedical and Electrotherapeutic Apparatus Manufacturing. Business size standard for NAICS 334510 is 1250 employees. PSC code: 6515 - Medical and Surgical Instruments, Equipment and Supplies.

One (1) Primary Cell MRI IPG, Part number 3662;
Two (2) Octrode
Percutaneous Lead, Part number 3186;
Two (2) Swift Lock Anchor, Part number 1192; and
One (1) Wireless bluetooth patient controller, Part number 3883.
The proposed source is St. Jude Medical S.C., Inc., One Lillehei Plaza, Saint Paul, MN, 55117-1761.
This procurement will not be competed because the aforementioned St. Jude Medical spinal cord stimulator implant system is currently the only system that has the proper optimal capabilities to repair the specific anatomy presented. Furthermore, the surgeon at the Wright-Patterson Air Force Base Medical Treatment Facility is currently trained on how to use this system.
The Government will award a contract to the responsible Offeror whose offer conforms to the solicitation and is most advantageous to the Government, price and other factors considered. Technical Capability and Price will be used to evaluate all offers.
