REQUEST FOR PROPOSALSCITY OF FORT ATKINSONMUNICIPAL BUILDING FACILITY ASSESSMENTAPRIL 1, 2022 Introduction: The City of Fort Atkinson Parks and Recreation Department is requesting proposals from qualified firms to conduct a Facility Assessment of the Fort Atkinson Municipal Building located at 101 N. Main Street Fort Atkinson, WI 53538. The Assessment will provide needed information on the current condition of the building. The Assessment will detail needed interior and exterior repairs of the current building with cost estimates, include life expectancy of materials and systems, and provide recommendations for maintenance, continued code compliance, and improvement necessary for continued operations. The Municipal Building was constructed in 1929 and consists of a main level (approx. 17,000 SF), including a gymnasium, two separate second floors, and one basement. The Municipal Building is located in the City’s Main Street Historic District, and the Downtown Historic Mixed Use Zoning District (DHMU). It is an example of neoclassical architecture with modern canopies added in the late 20th century.
