P17-3103-C1A Sub Bids: Masonry Work, Roofing & Flashing, and Painting: Upper Lock Building Renovations This project consists of the replacement of existing roof, including but not limited to a new slate roof, new roof trim and flashing, new soffits, new gutters and down spouts, repair / restoration of original wood eave brackets, and repair of existing steal roof structure. Exterior work also included repointing of existing brick and granite walls 100%, and various repairs as indicated in the drawings. The estimated project Base Bid cost is $1,350,000 . The work is to be accomplished within 180 calendar days of a notice to proceed. Liquidated damages in the amount of $2,000. per day will be assessed if the work has not been completed in accordance with the provisions of the contract within the time specified (as extended by any authorized extension of time granted in accordance with the contract provisions). The proposed contract includes a combined requirement of 10.4% of the bid

price for minority-owned business enterprises and women-owned business enterprises. Proposed MBE/WBE plans that include solely MBE or solely WBE , or do not include a reasonable amount by both MBE and WBE firms to meet the combined requirements, will not be considered responsive. The applicable local minority workforce utilization percentage is a minimum requirement of 15.3%. The applicable local women workforce utilization percentage is a minimum requirement of 6.9%. The Commonwealth requires participation of Veteran-Owned Business Enterprises (“VOBE”) on its construction projects. The Veteran-Owned Business Enterprise benchmark for this contract is 3.0%.
