Notice of Intent to Begin Environmental StudiesFAST Intersection Improvements FFY2021NFHWY00524The Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF) proposes to improve intersections within the Fairbanks and North Pole FAST Planning Area. This will include work on alignment at Sheep Creek and Tanana Loop and Chena Pump Road and Chena Point Road, signs, clearing drainage ditches, reshaping drainage ditches, extending culverts, resurfacing highway, installing safety beacon at Tanana Middle School on Trainor Gate Road, installing a median on Farmers Loop at the Steese Highway.This project involves construction encroachments within a mapped floodplain of the Chena River. The encroachments are anticipated to be minor, with no net changes to the base flood elevation, will not result in significant encroachments, and no longitudinal encroachments are anticipated.
