The installation will be for one Bell OH-58 police helicopter used for law enforcement and other public safety missions. The intent of this upgrade is to ensure the standardization of equipment across the Air Operations' fleet, providing an overall aircraft configuration that matches mission needs while improving safety. 2. BackgroundThe Pasadena Air Operations Section conducts law enforcement and other public safety missions for multiple agencies and jurisdictions. This includes the Foothill Air Support Team, a long standing regional operation that currently consists of 10 cities. The helicopter fleet consists of three Bell OH-58's, one Bell 206-BIII, and one MD-500E. Air Operations personnel have been utilizing IR thermal imaging cameras to support their missions for over 25 years. To enhance safety and improve overall operations, the Air Operations section is seeking to standardize its most effective piece of equipment on the helicopter, the Hi-Def thermal imaging camera system. 3.
