Program. The Successful Offeror will implement a statewide therapeutic fine arts initiative to improve quality of life for approximately 2,000 residents in 100 skilled nursing homes across the state of Kentucky over a three-year period. An executed contract with the Successful Offeror is contingent upon the University receiving the grant funding for the program. Partner should be a nonprofit, charitable organization that offers high-quality, field-tested therapeutic programs, resources, education, and training. Partner should have documented history of success running similar program in other states. Partner should be able to provide multiple trainings to nursing home staff by registered Art Therapists & credentialed Art Professionals. University students should be offered the opportunity to attend some program training to help them discover the value of the arts as an alternative intervention to traditional approaches in health and elder care. Examples of workshop training topics include: Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Dementias; Therapeutic Art vs Arts and Crafts; Evidence-Based Research and Outcomes; Caregiver Needs: The Psychological Impacts/Populations That Utilize the Arts as therapy; How Effective Programming Benefits a Continuum of Care: How/Why Expressive Arts Play a Role in Care Treatment and Management; Introduction and Benefits of Arts in Wellness; Numerous Art Exercises/Art Making sessions; How the Arts Serve Diverse Populations; Art Mediums and How Supplies Affect a Session; How to Facilitate Individual and Group Sessions; Communication Strategies: Effective Ways of Engagement; Interventions That Complement Cognitive Levels, Case Studies: Viewing of Artwork; Celebrations Via Art Exhibits and Community Involvement; Personalized Art4Life Project Requirements, Implementation and Other Resources, Facilitation Overview, Best Practices & Tips, Data Reporting and Forms, Training & Support Overview. Partner will hire a Project Manager to administer and support the project. Partner will contract, train and certify registered Art Therapists & credentialed Art Professionals in Kentucky. These individuals will be supervised by Partner and will be responsible for all aspects of project management, coordination, support, and training throughout the project and grant period. Desired Program Outcomes  Enhanced quality of life for residents living with cognitive, mental, and/or developmental challenges  Reduced agitation and other challenging behaviors, including symptoms of anxiety, depression and isolation  Improved cognitive function, communication, autonomy, positive interactions, and well-being  Reduced use of anti-psychotic medications  Reduced caregiver burden by enhancing relationships, facilitating care, and reducing stress  Increased staff and student appreciation of arts-based interventions while providing opportunities for uniquely rewarding life- affirming moments associated with arts-based interventions. Offeror should propose a 'not to exceed' (NTE) dollar amount for all services to be performed to meet scope of services and requirements for contract term Award Date through June 30, 2022, and a NTE dollar amount for each optional renewal term thereafter. Form of Contract - The form of the awarded contract will be a Personal Service Contract (PSC) that will be submitted to the Kentucky State Government Contract Review Committee annually for review and approval. Successful Offeror must be registered with the Kentucky Secretary of State Office as required by Kentucky law. The total contract period will not exceed four (4) years, subject to KRS 45A.145. Annual renewal will be contingent upon the University’s needs and satisfaction with the services performed and the overall performance of the Contractor.
