BLM-CO - Museum Curatorial ServicesThis is a presolicitation for a soon to be released Request for Proposals for curation, storage and display of BLM Colorado's large collection of cultural artifacts (390 cubic feet of boxes containing 33,932 objects). No quotes or proposals are being accepted at this time. This service has been satisfactorily performed by the Museum of Western Colorado (KPUEHTC6PDD3) in Grand Junction, CO since 2006 under at least four contract ID numbers (INL06PX00783, INL09PX00942, INL13PX01043 and 140L1718P0051). The current contract is nearing the end of it's 5-year cycle and will be replaced based upon the result of this solicitation. The BLM intends to award a Base + 4 year option contract to satisfy this requirement.Description of Work: Curatorial Services means managing and preserving a collection according to professional museum and archival practices, including, but not limited to: (1) Inventorying, accessioning, labeling and cataloging a collection. (2)
Identifying, evaluating and documenting a collection; (3) Storing and maintaining a collection using appropriate methods and containers, and under appropriate environmental conditions and physically secure controls; (4) Periodically inspecting a collection and taking such actions as may be necessary to preserve it; (5) Providing access and facilities to study a collection; (6) Handling, cleaning, stabilizing and conserving a collection in such a manner to preserve it.Applicable Museum Standards:1. Accreditation by American Alliance of Museums2. Compliance with DOI Museum Property Directives - https://www.doi.gov/museum/policy/Museum-Directives.
