DESCRIPTION OF PROCUREMENT The University is conducting an RFP for Access Control Gates The RFP is to procure Access Control Gates, specifically speed gate style turnstiles, at the entrances to Robarts Library (St. George Street), Robarts Common (Huron Street), and Gerstein Library
(King's College Circle). The gates shall house and integrate with third party readers that will interface with our current and or future TCard system (https://tcard.utoronto.ca/). The gates shall also be future proofed to keep up with changes in access card technologies (contactless cards, fobs, personal mobile devices) and authentication standards (NFC, RFID, QR code, etc.). In addition, the gates shall be compatible with existing Bibliotheca/3M EM security gates. The Proponent should propose the make, model or manufacturer of their proposed product. The Proponent may provide additional details or information (such as product brochure) as supporting document. The Proponent should propose a low height product as their primary proposal. Products with mid height or full height are requested as optional items only. The Successful Proponent will be responsible for the supply, installation, and testing of gates at all 3 locations. Additional locations may be considered in future. An optional site visit is scheduled but proponents are strongly encouraged to attend. All cabling, conduit, fire alarm connections, access control requirements, and core drilling will be done by other parties. The tentative project completion date for installation and commissioning is August 15, 2023. Details of the specifications and other requirements are shown in the RFP. The procurement is anticipated to involve negotiation. An electronic auction is not anticipated ADDRESS AND FINAL DATE FOR SUBMISSIONSSubmissions must be submitted electronically at https://utoronto.bonfirehub.ca/on or before Friday, March 31, 2023 (2:00 PM local time). The submissions will not be opened publicly.
