NOTICE TO BIDDERS Fones Road – Transportation Project Project No. PRJ-22-000036 STPUS-5343(002) Sealed bids for the above project will be received from Contractors by the City of Olympia through the drop-box labeled “Bid & Proposal Drop Box” at Olympia City Hall located at 601 4th Ave E, Olympia, Washington 98501. The drop-box submittal deadline is 10:00 AM, Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at which time the drop-box will be opened and sealed bids will be publicly opened and read in City Hall Council Chambers. The City will only open and consider bid proposals received through the drop-box labeled “Bid & Proposal Drop Box” or by mail as described below. In addition to placing sealed bids in the bid and proposal drop-box, Contractors may choose to mail in bids instead. This project provides for improvements to Fones Road from Pacific Avenue South to 18th Avenue Southeast. Project elements include: Roadway reconfiguration, raised cement concrete crosswalk, and compact roundabout Porous Hot Mix Asphalt grade separated bike lanes and sidewalk Modification of the stormwater systems Replacement of the existing water main Roadway and Pedestrian Illumination Landscape Planters and Irrigation Undergrounding overhead electrical and communication utilities and other work, all in accordance with the Contract Documents. The Engineer’s Probable Opinion of Cost ranges from $15,000,000.00 to $16,500,000.00. This project has Federal Aid funding. The recipient, in accordance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, (78 Stat. 252, 42 U.S.C. 2000d to 2000d-4) and the Regulations, hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively ensure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, disadvantaged business enterprises will be afforded full and fair opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, or national origin in consideration for an award. The Mandatory DBE Goal for this project is 15%. A 1,200-hour Training Goal has been established for this project. Although not mandatory, all prospective bidders are encouraged to attend the pre-bid meeting on April 29th, 2024, at 2:00 PM, located at City Hall, 601 4th Ave E, Olympia, Washington 98501. The meeting will take place in room CR207. The meeting will be up to 90 minutes in duration. All bids must be submitted on the forms furnished for that purpose, and each proposal must be accompanied by bid bond, or certified check made payable to the City of Olympia, in an amount of not less than (5) percent of the total bid amount.
