from qualified insurance brokers for insurance plans and services for both inbound (F-1 students and J-1 students and scholars) and outbound international mobility participants, participating programming offered through ISSS, IG, and SAA from 2022-2025/2027. SJSU has the largest international student populations in the CSU system. During academic year (AY) 20-21, the University had approximately 2800 matriculated international students, and an additional 1800 international students on post-OPT and STEM OPT, and 150 intensive English language students. In addition, over 500 SJSU students (pre-COVID-19) enrolled in study abroad through both short-and long-term programs with an eye on growth and ability to increase participation anywhere from 5%-40% per year over the lifetime of the agreement. SJSU also hosts a smaller number of visiting scholars annually who need the Department of State insurance coverage. SJSU is open to brokers providing quotes from more than one insurance carrier to best meet the requirements and needs of both inbound and outbound participant/program coverages requested in this RFP. CPGE is seeking an insurance broker offering a comprehensive, cost-effective insurance plan to be utilized and paid for by the respective student populations who will enroll in the plan (via self-enrollment or through batch- enrollment processed by an SJSU unit, dependent on the program for which the student is participating). The information received will be reviewed and used to select an insurance broker and insurance plan(s) to represent the students, dependents, faculty, and staff participating in inbound and outbound international mobility programs through ISSS, SAA, and IG. Other campus groups and programs may also use the insurance policy if approved by ISSS, SAA, or IG as needed. Description
