The United States Department of Labor, Office of Inspector General (DOL-OIG) intends to award a contract for equipment and network subscription services for a Push-to-Talk (PTT) Radio solution for DOL-OIG offices throughout the continental United States. This will be used to cover law enforcement communications during law enforcement operations, emergencies and daily communications. The DOL-OIG PTT radios will need to operate off cellular tower signal to provide 24/7 communications nationally. DOL-OIG requires two-way radio communication system to support national and regional offices. The contactor must provide access to all services and commercial carriers for operation throughout the continental US.The OIG is seeking to procure 170 portable battery operated handheld radios along with associated office and vehicle charging cables, desktop charging bases, belt clips, wired microphones, and two wire surveillance kits. The radios shall be capable of operating for at least 8 hours on a single charge. In addition, the OIG is seeking to procure 12 base station radios with microphones and all accessories needed to operate in an office environment, including power supplies. The radios shall be capable of providing 12 or more encrypted channels exclusively for the use of the OIG. Encryption shall use the AES 256 standard. The underlying communication technology must allow for communication on a network that covers at least 95% of the U.S. population.
