Oil Spill Prevention and Contingency Plan - North Slope Energy LLC

PUBLIC NOTICE STATE OF ALASKA DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL CONSERVATIONAn application package for an Oil Discharge Prevention and Contingency Plan, under Alaska Statute 46.04.030 and in accordance with 18 AAC 75, has been received by the Department of Environmental Conservation. The details are as follow:Applicant: North Slope Energy, LLC 1421 Blake Street Denver, CO 80202Proposed Activity: Review of a new plan application package for an Oil Discharge Prevention and Contingency Plan that is required to commit adequate resources to meet all planning requirements for prevention and response for a realistic maximum discharge from the operations of North Slope Energy, LLC exploration drilling operations on the North Slope. The plan addresses a multi-year onshore oil and gas exploration drilling program during the winter months in the North Slope Unit, which is located east of the Colville River and west of the existing Kuparuk River Unit. Exploration drilling will be conducted at drilling

locations located on lease tracts west of the Inigok Airstrip within the NPR-A. Well sites are located approximately 150 miles from hydrocarbon recycling and processing facilities in the Kuparuk River Unit and within 170 miles for recycling and disposal facilities in the Prudhoe Bay Unit. This plan proposes to address a response planning standard of 82,500 barrels based on the default value of 5,500 barrels of oil per day for a blowout lasting 15 days. Requests for additional information and comments must be received by 11:59 pm on October 17, 2022. An additional comment period may be provided in accordance with 18 AAC 75.455(d).
