Aircraft Archiver Upgrade

NASA/NSSC has a requirement for SOFIA flying observatory Aircraft Archiver Upgrade (Rugged Servers).   These data archivers will be used onboard a unique, custom modified NASA Flying Observatory Boeing 747SP aircraft platform.NASA/NSSC intends to issue a sole source contract to Zmicro Inc., 9820 Summers Ridge Road, San Diego, CA 92121-3083 under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i). It has been determined that Zmicro Inc.is the sole provider SOFIA flying observatory Aircraft Archiver Upgrade (Rugged Server). Using a different vendor would require the SOFIA Project to do a full Verification and Validation test of all Observatory systems. This would impact the scheduled missions.NASA/NSSC will be the procuring center for this effort.  Performance will be located at NASA/ Armstrong Flight Research Center (AFRC).The Government intends to acquire commercial items and services using the provisions, clauses and procedures prescribed in FAR Part 12 and FAR Part 13.The NAICS Code for this procurement is 334419.Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 pm Central Standard Time, July 16, 2021. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis.
