The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Animal Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) Plant Protection and Quarantine (PPQ) National Detector Dog Training Center (NDDTC) provides human performance-based training pairing handlers and canines together to conduct agriculture inspections. The mission of NDDTC provides highly specialized training for dogs and their handlers. These dog/human teams perform a vital task for our country by safeguarding American agriculture and natural resources from harmful invasive pest and diseases.Description of ServicesProvide necessary veterinary services for NDDTC canines within a 15-mile radius of the NDDTC, located at 360 Industrial Park, Newnan GA; and supports continuous and emergent mission critical training of agricultural detection canines under the NDTCC mission. Services performed under this contract include the full realm of veterinary services and veterinary medicine for canines, including, but not limited to, initial health
screening, diagnostic care, preventive care and medicine, acute and emergent health care.In order to meet the mission of NDDTC, the basic service shall have immediate capability of:Availability for up to ten (10) canines per visitFacility hours of operation suitable to perform the requirements of this contract, which require standard weekly business hours, Saturday hours and after-hours care.Initial Canine Health ScreeningQuarantining on-sitePerformance of House CallsRoutine Office VisitsEmergent and Urgent CareAcceptance of canines the day prior to surgery for overnight boarding at no chargeMonthly routine vaccinations and Heath Certificates on site at NDDTCConsultation of kennel management such as sanitation/anti parasitic products, sanitation schedule, product application guidelines, canine food, feeding amounts, treatment plans, and dietary issuesMedical consultation services concerning remote located caninesLetters of acclimation for shipping canines throughout the United States and other countriesInternational health certificates, specific blood work for other countries, export permitsRegular health certificates (Continental United States)In-house x-ray capabilityReceive and read x-rays from outside sources (Digital Format)Referral services for any specialty requirementsIn-house laser therapyOrthopedic specialty or experienceIsolation Units to board canines with infectious diseasesMonthly Medication Preventives prescribed per canine within two (2) days of request
