PUBLIC NOTICE ADL 226285 Alaska Aerospace CorporationAugust 26, 2022 Subject to AS 38.05.027 and AS 38.05.035, the Department of Natural Resources, Division of Mining, Land and Water, Southcentral Regional Land Office has received an application for the following: APPLICANT: Alaska Aerospace Corporation PROJECT NAME: Pacific Spaceport Complex - Alaska ADL 226285 GEOGRAPHIC LOCATION: located within the Pasagshak area extending to Narrow Cape and Pasagshak Point on Kodiak Island, and on Ugak Island, Alaska LEGAL DESCRIPTION: Near Narrow Cape on Kodiak Island, known as the Core Launch Facility Area, and containing approximately 3,805 acres: Within Sections 31-34, and the S1/2 of Sections 29 and 30 of Township 31 South, Range 19 West, Seward Meridian; and Sections 3-6 and 9 of Township 32 South, Range 19 West, Seward Meridian. To the north and west of Core Launch Facility Area known as the Narrow Cape Expanded Safety Area, and containing approximately 5,581 acres: Within Sections 1, 2, 3,
4, 9 and 10 of Township 32 South, Range 20 West, Seward Meridian; Sections 25, 34, 35 and 36 of Township 31 South, Range 20 West, Seward Meridian; and the S1/2 of Sections 19, 20, 21, 22, Sections 27 and 28, and the N1/2 of Sections 29 and 30 of Township 31 South, Range 19 West, Seward Meridian. On Ugak Island to the south of the Core Launch Facility Area, known as the Ugak Island Safety Area, and containing approximately 1,467 acres: Within Sections 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 34 and 35 of Township 32 South, Range 19 West, Seward Meridian. REQUESTED ACTIVITY: Alaska Aerospace Corporation (AAC) is requesting the re-issuance of an Interagency Land Management Assignment (ILMA) for the purposes of operating and maintaining an orbital launch facility and for other aerospace-related activities. The ILMA will allow AAC to provide launch capabilities for Low Earth Orbit (LEO) polar, sun synchronous, and high inclination orbits. The ILMA encompasses 10,853 acres more or less. The authorization, if approved, may differ from that described herein. REQUESTED TERM: 30 years. DEADLINE FOR COMMENTS: On or by 5:00 PM on Wednesday, September 28, 2022The public is invited to comment on this activity. The purpose of this notice is to gather input before a decision is made on this activity. To ensure consideration, written comments must be received by the Division of Mining, Land and Water at the Southcentral Regional Land Office, Anchorage, Alaska 99501 on or before 5:00 PM on the date noted above.
