The US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Europe District plans to solicit proposals for a design-build construction contract for construction of a new National Malaria Reference Laboratory (NMRL) facility in Lakka, Sierra Leone; Latitude 8°23'53.50"N, Longitude 13°15'50.14"W. The project is to provide a new structure that will house the NMRL operations. The project includes the following general items of work:a. Clear, grub, and grade the siteb. Demolition of the existing structurec. Construct new National Malaria Reference Laboratory Facilityd. Provide site improvements including a water borehole with a generator and elevated water storage tank, a rain catchment system, septic system, and a contaminated water treatment/storage system.Detailed requirements will become available soon with a statement of work. This is a pre-solicitation announcement of a proposed contract pursuant to FAR 5.204. The US Government intends to announce a contract solicitation for design and construction services as described within this announcement at a later date. This announcement is also meant to help identify potential contractors interested in and capable of performing this design and construction project.
