The Naval Sea Systems Command intends to issue, on a sole-source basis, solicitation N00024-23-R-2313 to General Dynamics-Bath Iron Works (BIW), 700 Washington Street, Bath, ME 04530-2574, to maintain necessary Lead Yard engineering, technical support, special studies, and design work for DDG 51 Class Lead and Follow ship class configurations. Pursuant to 10 U.S.C. § 3204(a)(1) (formerly § 2304(c)(1)) and FAR 6.302-1, as the lead-yard ship designer and builder, BIW is the only firm capable of providing timely and effective lead-yard engineering and technical support for DDG 51 Class lead-yard construction. BIW has the requisite familiarity and knowledge of DDG 51 Class configurations as well as a detailed understanding of the construction techniques and practices used to build these ships.The proposed contract action is for supplies for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under authority of FAR 6.302. opportunities should contact BIW directly. The resultant contract, if awarded, will be for one year with options for up to four additional years.
