Interpretive Exhibit Planning and Design Services Industry Day The US Department of Interior, Interior Region 8, Lower Colorado Basin will host an Interpretive Exhibit Planning and Design Services Industry Day on February 28, 2020 at Hoover Dam starting at 9am PST. All interested parties are invited to attend in person. The purpose of this Industry Day is to brief all interest parties for the upcoming planned solicitation for interpretive exhibit planning and design services to provide the tools to achieve this mission. The requirement is to assist in developing story lines to interpret Hoover Dam-related themes; develop concepts and designs for methods to convey information (i.e., exhibits) and create immersive, educational and inspirational experiences; develop construction plans, drawings, specifications, cost estimates and other related studies. Background: Methods to convey information include dynamic digital displays, exciting immersive exhibits, interactive activities and
large-scale, one-of-a-kind experiences. Additionally, these methods may include, but are not limited to: graphics, display mounts, display cases, two and three-dimensional displays, reproductions, lighting systems, audiovisual presentations, electronic interactive programs, hologram and/or 3-D projection vignettes, photographs, murals, display transparencies, scale models, full-size models, dimensional maps and displays, dioramas, mechanical interactive devices, sign-age, cabinets, storage units, use of museum items and museum quality materials, structural elements such as display walls, platforms, barriers, and other display support structures, and elements designed to enhance accessibility for individuals with physical, sensory, and cognitive impairments. Contractor should apply the IPOP model for exhibit design and development (Ideas, People, Objects, Physical), as described in museum industry journals. Additionally, there will be a comprehensive Questions and Answers session to discuss all aspects of this potential effort. A formal response to all Question will be posted following Industry Day. Registration for the Industry Day is required by 1pm PST on February 27, 2020. Each attendee is required to register due to potential space limitations. Each may register by providing company name, legal name of each attendee, email address and phone number for each attendee to Diane Rodriguez at DLRodriguez@usbr.gov. Questions related to the Industry Day should be addressed via email to Diane Rodriguez at DLRodriguez@usbr.gov. This announcement is issued solely for information and planning purposes and does not constitute a Request for Proposals (RFP) or a promise to issue an RFP in the future. Further, Reclamation is not at this time seeking proposals and will not accept unsolicited proposals. Respondents are advised that the U.S. Government will not pay for any information or administrative costs incurred in response to this Industry Day announcement/participation; all costs incurred or associated with this Industry Day will solely be the respondents expense. Not attending this Industry Day does not preclude participation in any future RFPs, is any are issued. During the Industry Day, the Government will not discuss any active procurements or RFPs. It is the responsibility of the interested parties to monitor BetaSam (www.betasam.gov) for additional information pertaining to this notice. The anticipated North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 541430-Graphic Design Services. Recommendation for alternate NAICS codes may be submitted for consideration. The basic contract is anticipated as a Firm Fixed Price (FFP). Industry Day Date: February 28, 2020 Time: 9:00 am ¿ 12:00 pm PT Location: Hoover Dam State Route 172 (Hoover Dam Access Road) Boulder City, NV 89005 Participants will meet at Dedication Plaza (Winged Figures of the Republic Sculpture and Flag). Attendees should park in the Visitor Center Parking Garage. The parking fee is $10.00.
