At that time, bids received will be publicly opened and read aloud in the City Commission Chamber located at City Hall 165 Railroad St SE, Killdeer, ND 58640. Bids being mailed or delivered prior to March 21st, 2024, can be sent to: City of Killdeer PO Box 270 Killdeer, ND 58640-0270All Bidders are invited to be present at the public opening of the Bids. Description: Description:Bids will be received for Contract No. 1 – General Construction. Bid shall be on unit price basis. The Work comprised of each Contract is generally described as follows: Contract No. 1 – General Construction: Work generally includes grading, subgrade preparation, new aggregate base, bituminous paving, and restoration improvements of

approximately 5,000 feet of the existing gravel roads in the City of Killdeer. Additional street improvements include approximately 900 feet of road grading, subgrade prep, new aggregate base, and class 13 resurfacing. Other improvements include approximately 7,200 feet of curb and gutter and 4,000 feet of sidewalk; 2,100 feet water main pipe, 18 gate valves and 8 fire hydrants; approximately 2,800 feet of new gravity sanitary sewer main, 2 each steel cased bores under Highway 22, 12 sanitary sewer manholes, and 7 sanitary service laterals; 1100 feet of storm sewer pipe, 11 flared end sections, 3 storm sewer manholes, 7 storm sewer curb inlets, and 3 storm sewer area inlets.All Work shall be done according to the Bidding Documents. All Bids will be made on the basis of cash payment for such work and materials. Each bid must be accompanied by a separate envelope containing the contractor's license and bid security. The bid security must be in a sum equal to five percent (5%) of the full amount of the bid and must be in the form of a bidder's bond. A bidder's bond must be executed by the bidder as principal and by a surety, conditioned that if the principal's bid is accepted and the contract awarded to the principal, the principal, within ten days after notice of the award, shall execute a contract in accordance with the terms of the bid and the bid bond and any condition of the governing body. A countersignature of a bid bond is not required under this section. If a successful bidder does not execute a contract within the ten days allowed, the bidder's bond must be forfeited to the governing body and the project awarded to the next lowest responsible bidder. The bidder shall be licensed for the full amount of the bid as required by section 43-07-12 of the NDCC. Bids that do not fully comply with requirements of NDCC 48-01.2-05 are considered deficient and will be resealed and returned to the bidder immediately. The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids and rebid the project until a satisfactory bid is received, and further reserves the right to award the Contract in the best interests of the Owner.
