INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE: Replenish Stock of Air Filters at the National Logistics Support Center in Grandview, MO.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), National Weather Service (NWS), National Logistics Support Center has a requirement to replenish stock of spare filters,NSN: 4310-01-389-0586 150 filter air, NSN: 4310-01-485-4600 100 filters with fiberglass, and NSN: 2940-01-322-7386 100 filters inlet. Kansas City Air Filter is a sole manufacturer for very unique filters required to clean, cool and protect vital mission critical electronics inside radar shelters. It is not possible to substitute the sole source of these filters because they are part exclusively to NOAA and are proprietary part numbers. These filters must be compatible in all aspects (form, fit and function) with existing systems or equipment and the source uniquely qualified to meet the requirement. Re-accomplishing the entire qualification/vetting process would be at a significant cost to the government and NEXRAD Severe Weather Radar systems would be unavailable during this period. The determination by the Government not to compete this proposed requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
