This U.S. industry comprises establishments primarily engaged in operating shipyards. Shipyards are fixed facilities with dry docks and fabrication equipment capable of building a ship, defined as watercraft typically suitable or intended for other than personal or recreational use. Activities of shipyards include the construction of ships, their repair, conversion and alteration, the production of prefabricated ship and barge sections, and specialized services, such as ship scaling, with a small business size standard of $41.5M.The proposed contract action is for commercial services for which the Government intends to solicit and contract with a small business under the authority of FAR subpart 6.203. All responsible sources may identify their interest and provide capability statements in response to this notice. However, all quotes received may be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government to not compete this proposed effort on a full and open competitive basis, based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
