Hiring Range: $16.61/hr - 17.10/hr (Depending on qualifications) Work Days/Hours: Monday – Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Posting Start: 2/15/2024 Posting End: 2/22/2024 JOB SUMMARY This position is responsible for greeting visitors to the utilities department, handling incoming calls, answering questions, collecting information and/or directing calls to appropriate departments or individuals within the department and assisting with clerical duties. Reports to the Utility Director. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS QUALIFICATIONS Education and Experience: High school diploma or GED (or equivalent); supplemented by one (1) year of related experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. Licenses or Certifications: Valid State of Georgia driver’s license; GA Notary Public Special Requirements: Requires an acceptable general background check to include a local and state criminal history check,
and a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record. Requires satisfactory results from a pre-employment alcohol and controlled substance testing. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: PHYSICAL DEMANDS The work is sedentary work which requires exerting up to 10 pounds of force. Work requires require the ability to exert light physical effort which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of light weight. Tasks may involve extended periods of time at a keyboard or work station. Some tasks require the ability to perceive and discriminate visual cues or signals. Some tasks require the ability to communicate orally. WORK ENVIRONMENT Work is performed in an office environment.
