Subject to AS 38.05.850, the Northern Regional Land Office has received an application for the following:
APPLICANT: Graphite One (Alaska) Inc.PROJECT NAME: LAS 34053GEOGRAPHIC LOCATION: The proposed areas extend from the Nome-Taylor Highway to South of the Imuruk Basin near Nome. LEGAL DESCRIPTION: Sections 6, 7, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 21, 22, 23, and 24 of Township 7 South, Range 33 West, Kateel River Meridian
Section 1, Township 7 South, Range 34 West, Kateel River Meridian
Sections 1, 2, 11, 12, 13, 14, 23, 24, 25, 26, 35, and 36 of Township 6 South, Range 34 West, Kateel River Meridian
Sections 23, 24, 25, 26, 35, and 36 of Township 5 South, Range 34 West, Kateel River Meridian REQUESTED ACTIVITY: The Division of Mining, Land, and Water (DMLW) has received a land use permit application from Graphite One (Alaska) Inc. for the cross-country travel of a drill rig which would be
used for geotechnical investigations related to a potential mining road. Any future road would be adjudicated through a separate casefile. The drill rig is a track mounted off road vehicle weighing approximately 6000 lbs. It would be transported from site to site using a helicopter but would move around potential material sites over land to collect samples. The travel of the drill rig would occur between May through October of 2022 and 2023. Drilling would not exceed 100 ft in depth and is within Generally Allowed Uses. Drilling would require at most less than 5000 gallons of water per day which would be sourced from near the drilling site. REQUESTED TERM: 2 years
