AJ11--Advanced Genomics Core UofM - Dr. Mody

The Department of Veterans Affairs, VA Ann Arbor Medical Center VISN 10,2215 Fuller Road, Ann Arbor MI 48105, in accordance with FAR 13.106-1(b), intends to request quotation on a sole source basis with University of Michigan for the provision of the services of Dr. Lona Mody. NAICS 541715 and PSC code AJ11 apply. Dr. Lona Moya will provide the VA with a development of a multi-drug resistant organism (MDROs) experiments. There will be a Genome sequencing for the experiment study and there will be a number of sample plates for the study. The (MDRO) transmission will be evaluated by determining factors which is case by case. Furthermore, Dr. Lona Mody will serve as the Principal Investigator on the research / experiment s projects. The Ann Arbor VA requires contract services of its academic affiliate, the University of Michigan, in order to conduct research which cannot be performed at the VA. Sole source is conducted under the authority of 38 U.S.C. 8153 (a)(3)(A) If the healthcare

resource required is a commercial service, the use of medical equipment or space, or research, and is to be acquired from an institution affiliated with the Department in accordance with section 7302 of this title, including medical practice groups and other entities associated with affiliated institutions, blood banks, organ banks, or research centers, the Secretary may make arrangements for acquisition of the resource without regard to any law or regulation (including any Executive order, circular, or other administrative policy) that would otherwise require the use of competitive procedure for acquiring the resource. Periods of performance are estimated as follows: Base Period of Performance: 05/01/2022 04/30/2023 Option Year 1: 05/01/2023 04/30/2024 Option Year 2: 05/01/2024 03/31/2025 This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals.
