N00164-12-D-JQ40- SOLE SOURCE - Integrated Fire Control System - FSC:5855 - NAICS: 334511Issue Date: 08 Sept 2017 - Closing Date: 22 Sept 2017 - 14:00 EDTITEM DESCRIPTION- Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Crane has a requirement for Integrated Fire Control System.The Government intends to extend the above referenced contract in order to meet the Government's requirements for 18 additional months. This extension is to allow the Government time to procure the remaining supplies on this action once funding is available. This extension is also intended to allow for the development and validation of requirements for the next generation of the covered supplies. Once the requirements are fully validated, the Government intends to procure them under full and open competition.The proposed contract action is for the Firm Fixed-Price (FFP) supplies for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with one source, American Rheinmetall Systems, LLC., Biddeford, ME (ARS), under the

authority of FAR 6.302-1. This is being sole sourced because ARS is the only source that can meet the Government's requirements without unacceptable delays or the incurrence of substantial duplication of cost. All responsible sources may submit a capability statement which shall be considered by the agency. However, a determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this solicitation is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.Contractors must be properly registered in the System for Award Management (SAM).
