Post InformationPosted At:Tue, Apr 16, 2024 8:00 AMSealed Bid Process:Yes (Bids Sealed / Pricing Sealed)Private Bid:NoOverviewSummaryLakeland Electric Power Production (LE) seeks the services of an experienced and reputable Recruitment Service well-established in the Power Industry. Specifically, LE requires a Recruiting Agency with documented success in recruiting and long-term placement of experienced Power Plant or other Heavy Industrial Technical professionals, in the fields of Operations, Maintenance, and other niche or hard to fill positions. Experienced Operators, Controls Technicians and Electricians are vital to the Operation and Maintenance of a Combined Cycle generation facility, and LE requires the opportunity to select potential hires from a wider pool of skilled candidates than is currently available through more traditional means, or past practice. The very specialized and critical nature of the positions LE will need to fill in the coming months and years, require
candidate evaluations best performed by Recruiters experienced with the skill sets needed, and the needs of the Power Industry in general. LE is not adequately staffed to perform in-depth experience appraisals of multiple candidates in a timely fashion. When positions are lost to retirement as the workforce ages, skill gaps create unacceptable risk of critical equipment neglect and failure. Recent efforts to fill vital positions have revealed a dearth of skilled individuals in the radius of our potential candidate pool. BackgroundLakeland Electric (LE) is a municipal electric utility owned by the City of Lakeland. LE operates a variety of electricity generating equipment, including a Siemens 501G gas turbine combined cycle plant, a General Electric Frame 7EA gas turbine combined cycle plant, two (2) simple cycle gas turbines and a number of diesel generators. Our current total net capacity is 665 Megawatts.Late in 2024, our new plant will come on-line, consisting of six (6) MAN 18V/60G natural gas reciprocating internal combustion engine (RICE) generators. The total capacity of the RICE plant will be 120 Megawatts.TimelineRFP release:April 16, 2024RFP questions deadline:April 30, 2024, 5:00pmRFP proposal due date:May 7, 2024, 2:00pm
