is soliciting sealed Bids for the proposed electrical and mechanical improvements at the Bliss Park Reynolds Pools and Greenwood Pools. Bid documents may also be obtained online through the Purchasing Department page of the town website www.longmeadowma.gov . Those that download bid documents from the Town’s online bid postings are encouraged to register with the Longmeadow Purchasing Department, those that do not will be responsible for monitoring the bid listings for updates and issued addenda. Failure to acknowledge the receipt of addenda may

result in a bid rejection. Sealed Bids will be received at the Town of Longmeadow, Purchasing Department, until the bid deadline of 11:00am on Thursday, May 2, 2024 per IFB Addendum No.2 ( previously 11:00am on Thursday, April 25, 2024). Late bids will be rejected. Immediately following the bid deadline, bids will be publicly opened in the auditorium in the same building. Sealed bids should have the outer envelope marked “IFB – Electrical and Mechanical Improvements”. The pool improvement work consists of mechanical and electrical improvements and filter equipment improvements, and other work. Substantial Completion of the full Scope of Work must be obtained by June 1, 2024 so both pools can open for the scheduled pool season. There will be a non-mandatory pre-bid conference at the rescheduled time of 10:00am on Wednesday, April 17, 2024 per IFB Addendum No.1 (previously 10:00am on Monday, April 15, 2024). Gather at the Bliss Park, Reynolds Pool (Near the intersection of Laurel Street and Bliss Road), Longmeadow, MA 01106, A site visit to the other pool location will follow. All bids for this project are subject to the provisions of Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 30, Section 39M as amended. The project is not state funded so prequalification is not required. All Bidders shall furnish with their Bid a bid guaranty in the form of a bid bond, cash or a certified check, treasurer’s check or cashier’s check issued by a responsible bank or trust company, in the amount of 5% of the total amount of the bid and made payable to the Town of Longmeadow, Massachusetts.Performance and Labor and Materials Payment Bonds, in the full amount of the Contract Price, will be required of the Successful Bidder. No Bid may be withdrawn less than thirty (30) business days (excluding weekends and legal holidays) after the date of the opening of bids.Minimum Wage Rates as determined by the Commissioner of Department of Workforce Development under the provision of the Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 149, Sections 26 to 27H, as amended, apply to this project. It is the responsibility of the contractor, before bid opening, to request if necessary, any additional information on Minimum Wage Rates for those trades people who may be employed for the proposed work under this contract.The Town of Longmeadow, acting through the Town Manager, the Awarding Authority reserves the right to reject any and all bids, waive minor informalities, and to award a contract in the best interest of the Town.
