MiWay Transit (“MiWay”) is a Division in the City of Mississauga’s Transportation and Works Department. MiWay is responsible for on-street bus operations and ongoing maintenance with an annual ridership of 40 million riders. MiWay’s fleet consists of approximately 500 buses and 60 light duty vehicles. The City is issuing this RFT for the brake shoe rebuild and exchange program in accordance with Appendix C. It is the intention of the City to award to one or more bidders that can provide the equipment in accordance with Appendix C and who can demonstrate the appropriate skills, experience and ability to provide ongoing service and support as needed by the City. Despite Part 4 Pricing, Section 2.0 (a), the award of the contract will be made to the lowest acceptable bidder per line item, or in whole, based on the lowest cost to the City. The City reserves the right to buy the quantity or quantities it requires with no guarantee of volume purchased. All products/specifications approved and accepted by the City must remain consistent throughout the duration of the contract. The City will not accept any minimum order requirements from the successful bidder.
