The Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF) has assumed the responsibilities of the Federal Highway Administration under 23 U.S.C. 327 and is soliciting comments and information on a proposal to resurface North Eagle River Access Road from Powder Ridge Drive to Old Glenn Highway, in Eagle River, Alaska. In addition to pavement preservation, the proposed project may include:Milling and pavingUpgrade curb ramps to comply with Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standardsReplace, repair or install roadside hardware (e.g. signage, lighting)Improve the road/pathway subgradeDrainage improvements (e.g. culverts, storm drain work, ditch grading)Intersection improvementsPedestrian improvements (including ADA improvements)Utility relocationsVegetative clearing and grubbing
This proposed project will comply with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act; Executive Orders: 11990 (Wetlands Protection), 11988 (Floodplain Protection), 12898
(Environmental Justice), the Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, Fish and Wildlife Coordination Act, and U.S. DOT Act Section 4(f).Construction for the proposed project is anticipated to begin in 2023.
