"STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE\nDepartment of Agriculture, Markets & Food\nSECTION 1 - OVERVIEW AND SCHEDULE OF EVENTS\n\nand prevention, euthanasia, adequate veterinary care, etc. Thelicense fee check is\nsent to the State\u2019s general fund. Once the completed application has been reviewed,\nan inspection is scheduled. The inspector then performs the inspection and records\nthe results into a database. If the pet vendor passes inspection, a license is issued\nand mailed to the pet vendor. The Division of Animal Industry then makes sure all\nlicense information has been recorded in a database along with the unique license\nnumber. If the application is not approved, the pet vendor can correct needed actions\nand/or request a hearing.\n\ne Pet Vendor C omplaint/E nforcement Process: An entity (e.g., individual, police,\nveterinarian, another pet vendor, etc.) files acomplaint in writing against a pet\nvendor with the Division of Animal Industry. If the pet vendor is licensed, and
the\ncomplaint is substantive, Division of Animal Industry will perform an unannounced\ninspection of the pet vendor facility. Once the inspection has been completed,\ncorrective actions will be communicated to the pet vendor and if necessary, fines are\nlevied. In some instances, the pet vendor\u2019s license can be revoked or suspended.\nThe Division of Animal Industry tracks the corrective actions. If the complaint is\nagainst an unlicensed entity (pet vendor or private individual) the Division of\nAnimal Industry will send a formal letter to the pet vendor stating the\nregulations/law that needs to be followed. Sometimes the police are involved and at\ntimes, the Division of Animal Industry is asked to assist in criminal matters.\n\n1.2.
