East of Hills System Study Project - Tunnel Alignment Studies

EBMUD is soliciting proposals for the East of Hills System Study Project. A consultant will prepare a conceptual planning level study for two tunnels; one from Walnut Creek Water Treatment Plant (WTP) to Lafayette WTP and the other from Orinda WTP to Lafayette WTP. The scope of work will include the following tasks: Review existing geotechnical data, develop a geologic model and prepare 2D visualizations Develop the horizontal and vertical tunnel alignment alternatives and portal/shaft locations to convey treated water from Walnut Creek Water Treatment Plant to Lafayette Water Treatment Plant, and Orinda Water Treatment Plant to Lafayette Water Treatment Plant Scope the design phase for the tunnel Prepare a conceptual cost estimate for design and construction phases Geotechnical explorations (optional) Additional alignment alternatives (optional) Please respond to this RFP no later than 4:00 p.m. on Monday, February 10, 2020.
