47--IDIQ Well Screens and Stainless Steel Pipes

This is a Sources Sought announcement for acquisition planning purposes and no formal solicitation for this requirement exists at this time. All businesses, regardless of size; capable of providing these items are invited to respond to this announcement and submit a capability statement for consideration. Capability statements received will be reviewed to determine a firm¿s previous experience performing similar work. The capability statements will be reviewed and used to determine an appropriate procurement strategy, in particular whether a set-aside is warranted or an alternate procurement strategy. The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this notice or otherwise pay for information solicited. Proposed Project: The Bureau of Reclamation (Reclamation), Lower Colorado Basin, Yuma Area Office (YAO), has an ongoing requirement for the purchase and delivery of mild steel pipe and stainless-steel wire wrapped well screens. Delivered to the Yuma Area Office, Yuma

AZ, 85364. Reclamation is considering satisfying this requirement with a 5-year term firm-fixed price, Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) type contract with an economic price adjustment. After award is made, Reclamation will issue individual task orders on an as needed basis. Mild Steel Casing Pipe: Furnish in 10- and 20-foot lengths as follows: Mild steel casing pipe shall be fabricated of mild steel, .375 inch wall conforming to the requirements of STM A 139-04(2004) and shall have both edges beveled for welding. Diameter ranges from 6 inch to 30 inch. Stainless Steel Well Screens: Well screens shall be 16 inch diameter wire wrapped continuous slot, large diameter type 304 stainless steel with slot widths varying from 0.010 inch to .080 inch. Stainless steel well screen shall be designed for two maximum collapse depths as follows: 1. Shallow - Collapse depth of 600 feet 2. Deep - Collapse depth of 1200 feet Screens shall be supplied with 6 inch weld rings on both ends with a 16 inch type 304 stainless steel weld collar attached to one end. Well screen shall be fabricated from corrosion resistant type 304 stainless steel, cold drawn or cold rolled, wire or bars meeting the requirements of ASTM A493-09 (2009). The screen shall be fabricated by circumferentially wrapping a wire around a circular internal core of longitudinal rods with each intersection between wire wrapping and support rods and securely welded. Wire wrapping shall be wedge shaped with the narrow end welded to the longitudinal rods. Well screen shall be furnished in nominal 10-foot and 20-foot lengths. The end fittings for the supplied well screen shall be Type 304 stainless steel with 6 inch weld rings on both ends and shall be the minimum length required for adequate strength at the joints between the screen sections. End fittings shall be machine beveled for ease of insertion into stainless steel collar. Individual 16 inch diameter type 304 Stainless Steel collars will be in bid schedule. The well screen and all accessories required shall be suitable for the intended use and shall be the product of a manufacturer regularly engaged in the production of similar materials. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code 331210, Iron and Steel Pipe and Tube Manufacturing from Purchased Steel with a corresponding small business size standard of 1,000 employees.
