I N S T R U C T I O N S T O B I D D E R S Sealed proposals marked with the name of the Project will be received by CPCC, via email to David Valder (David.Valder@cpcc.edu), CPCC Director of Energy and Sustainability with copy to Chad Hancock (chancock@optimapa.com) until 2:00 pm on July 14, 2021 and immediately thereafter privately opened and read for the furnishing of labor, material and equipment for the construction of: CPCC-Merancas Campus – Chiller Plant Addition Bids will be received for a SINGLE PRIME Contract. All proposals shall be lump sum. Pre-Bid Meeting A pre-bid meeting and site walk-through is strongly encrourgad but is not manadatory, and will be held for all interested bidders on June 16th, 2021 at the 1:00 at the project location: 11940 Verhoeff Drive CHARLOTTE, NC 28078 (Chiller Plant) The meeting will address project specific questions, issues,
bidding procedures and bid forms followed by a walk-through of the Project area. All contractors are hereby notified that they must have proper license as required under North Carolina state law. A performance bond will be required for one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price at the time of Contract execution. A bid and payment bond will be also required per the attached documents. Provide a contingency fund in the amount of $30,000. Provide an allowance for the water treatment scope in the amount of $25,000. Payment will be made based on ninety percent (90%) of monthly estimates and final payment made upon completion and acceptance of work. Retainage shall be reduced to five percent (5%) upon substantial completion. Bids may be withdrawn within 24 hours after the scheduled closing time for the receipt of bids and shall be good for a period of 30 days. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive informalities. Bid Schedule  5/24/21, (EOD) - Issue bid docs to bidding contractors (by email)  6/16/21 –Pre-Bid meeting on site (1:00pm)  6/30/21 (EOD) – Final questions due from bidding contractors to Optima Engineering  7/7/21 (noon) – Issue addendum (if required) for any final revisions (based on contractor questions and/or owner review)  7/14/21 - Receive bids (by email) (2:00 pm) Questions shall be directed to the Designer: Optima Engineering, PA (Attn: Chad Hancock) 1927 S. Tryon Street, #300 Charlotte, NC 28203 704-338-1292 chancock@optimaengineering.com Notice of Award will be provided on or about August 23, 2021. The bulk of the work is anticipated to commence onsite in September 2021, while initial contracts are completed prior to that. Work can be performed onsite Monday through Saturday, 7am – 5pm. No work shall be performed on Sundays. Substantial Completion shall be defined as all systems being operational and the equipment being under control of the BAS. Final completion shall be defined as completion of all final punchlist items. The Contractor will be responsible for removal and disposal of all construction debris related to this project.
