America’s Job Center of California (AJCC). Comprised of Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) funding, grants, and publicly funded workforce development initiatives, AJCCs are designed to aid jobseekers, including those with significant barriers to employment, in finding high-quality jobs and careers and to assist employers hire and retain skilled workers. The City of Los Angeles presently operates fifteen AJCC Adult and Dislocated Worker Centers, locally known as WorkSource Centers. These centers offer free employment services to individuals aged 18 and above who have either been laid off or are actively seeking employment. The AJCC system has strategic partnerships with the California Employment Development Department and the Department of Rehabilitation; the Los Angeles Community College District; the Los Angeles County Departments of Probation, Public and Social Services, and the Department of Economic Opportunity; the Los Angeles Unified School District; and City Departments such as the Department of Aging. The City’s AJCC Adult and Dislocated Worker program serves on average 12,000 unduplicated individuals annually. The City of Los Angeles 2023-24 WIOA AJCC Adult and Dislocated Worker budget was $16.6 Million.
