Subject to AS 38.05.850, the Northern Regional Land Office has received an application for the following:
APPLICANT: Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT)
PROJECT NAME: Dalton Highway MP 18-37 Reconstruction
GEOGRAPHIC LOCATION: Dalton Highway between mileposts 18 and 37
LEGAL DESCRIPTION:
Sections 18, 19, 30, 31, 32, Township 10 North, Range 7 West, Fairbanks Meridian
Sections 4, 6, 9, 10, Township 10 North, Range 8 West, Fairbanks Meridian
Section 31, Township 11 North, Range 8 West, Fairbanks Meridian
Sections 25, 26, 35, 36, Township 11 North, Range 9 West, Fairbanks Meridian
REQUESTED ACTIVITY: DOT has requested a series of discontinuous parcels for a public access easement in support of a project to reconstruct the Dalton Highway from approximately MP 18 to MP 37. The purpose of the project is to improve safety, reduce
maintenance costs, and extend the life of the roadway.
REQUESTED TERM: In perpetuity
DEADLINE FOR COMMENTS: December 15, 2021
The public is invited to comment on this activity. The purpose of this notice is to gather input before a decision is made on this activity. To ensure consideration, written comments must be received by the Division of Mining, Land and Water at Northern Regional Land Office, Fairbanks, AK 99709 on or before 5:00 p.m. on the date noted above.
To be eligible to appeal, a person affected by these actions must provide written comments during the public comment period per AS 38.05.035(i).
