The City of Burlington (“City”) is seeking proposals from qualified firms for “design-build” services relating to the proposed Water Treatment Plant (WTP) office renovations. Design–build is a project delivery system used to deliver a project in which the design and construction services are contracted by a single entity. Qualified firms will possess technical expertise, management and staffing capabilities, references, and related prior experience to complete the projects described in this Request for Proposal (“RFP”). Responding firms will also be required to demonstrate professional services which include, but are not limited to; design and construction of similar office renovations including electrical, mechanical/HVAC coordination and general office fit-up. The Burlington Department of Public Works – Water Resources Division (“DPW-WRD”) is seeking proposals for the proposed WTP office renovations. The DPW-WRD is in need of additional office space and seeks to create three (3) new interior offices as part of this project. Renovations for one (1) additional interior office (Room 224) and improvements to an existing open office area (Room 231) are included in this RFP as and Add Alternate #1 and #2, respectively (see notes on Exhibit A. Preliminary Design Plans). The WTP office renovations shall be completed by November 30, 2023. Specifically, the City is seeking potential partners with the following expertise: 1. Capacity, knowledge, experience and ability to design and construct efficient code compliant office renovations. 2. Proven track record in successful implementation of providing similar design-build services.
