The building is a concrete and steel structure of nine-story with the two lowest floors below grade. The roof generally consists of a protected membrane system with gravel and paver ballast. The intent of the project is to

replace the existing roof above the Botterell Hall Annex, including, but not limited to, ballast, insulation, membrane, flashings, counter-flashings, drains and vents. The new roof will be an inverted, built-up, roof membrane system. Work will include but is not limited to: • removal and replacement of the inverted roofing systems; • all requisite M&E services for temporary disconnect, and alterations as needed; • removal and replacement of existing drains; • provision of new soldered scuppers; and • provision of new flashings; Botterell Hall 18 Stuart St. Queen’s University, Kingston ON https://map.queensu.ca/?id=1955#!ct/56273?m/571309?s/ Preferred Schedule: Start Date: Immediately upon contract finalization. Preferred Completion Date: July 26, 2024, or as quickly as possible. Note: Queen’s Facilities / Queen’s University have a strict requirement for roofers to act as either prime contractors or sub-contract contractors, and to comply with the following qualifications as outlined in the contract document specification for each of the following roofing projects. ·The roofer shall be a member in good standing in the OIRCA and/or the CRCA. ·All workers for this Section shall be employees of the roofer and not sub-contractors, independent contractors, or otherwise. ·The full-time working foreman and lead-hand of the roofing crew shall have no less than 10 years verifiable experience in 4-ply built-up asphalt roofing. ·Sheet metal workers shall have no less than 5 years verifiable experience in the fabrication and installation of roofing sheet metal and shall be fully knowledgeable of the standards set out in the SMACNA manual. ·The roofer must specifically carry open-flame insurance as part of their roofing insurance coverage.
