CM AT RISK ADVERTISEMENT Western Piedmont Community College is accepting proposals for a Construction Manager at Risk for the Emergency Services Training Center project until June 9, 2023 at 1:00 PM. Qualification proposals may be delivered to Sandy Hoilman at 1001 Burkemont Ave Morganton, NC or emailed to shoilman@wpcc.edu. It is the vendor’s responsibility to verify receipt confirmation. This project currently has an estimated construction budget of $15,000,000. OSBM provided grant (50481) to construct a state-of-the-art fire emergency services training center on the Catawba River as appropriated by the North Carolina General Assembly in the Current Operations Appropriations Act of 2021 (SL 2021-180) as modified by SL 2021-189. The training center will occupy approximately 30 acres and will consist of 1. classroom/office complex (approximately 10-12,000 sq. feet), 2. five-story burn building with a footprint of about 40 x 40, 3. several smaller support structures and propane fired props, 4. approximately 4 acres of paved surface for driver training, 5. and swift water rescue training area, dependent upon the site.
