Douglas County has several payment collection points throughout the County. Currently, policies regarding credit card processing and treatment of fees are decentralized and vary by department and function. The County uses several different credit card providers – some are related to contractual relationships with software vendors, others not. All fees are passed onto the customer as convenience fees. However, the County desires to increase online payments by minimizing fees and streamline processes where possible.
