00 11 13 1 ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS Sealed bids for the construction of the Maucker Union Tuckpointing & Concrete Repairs Project at the University of Northern Iowa will be received electronically through www.bidexpress.com by the Board of Regents, State of Iowa at the Office of Finance and Operations, 2401 Wisconsin Street, Lang Hall Room 122, University of Northern Iowa, Cedar Falls, Iowa 50614-0003 until 2:00 p.m. local Iowa time, on April 13, 2023 , and will then be publicly opened and read aloud through a Zoom Meeting. The link to join this meeting is fm.uni.edu/bid-information. The project consists of but is not limited to: This project consists of sealant, masonry, and concrete repair work. Existing damage has been caused by age, deterioration, moisture intrusion, freeze/thaw cycles, and limited subsidence of flatwork. Sealant joint replacement, solid surface epoxy repairs, concrete patching, repointing of

existing brick, replacement of damaged brick, and removal and replacement of flatwork to existing joints will be project requirements. There are four (4) areas requiring attention. Bids will be received for stipulated sum contract. Iowa Construction Sales Tax Exemption Certificates will be provided on this project. Bidding Documents may be obtained from Rapids Reproduction, 6201 Chancellor Dr., Cedar Falls, IA 50613;Phone 319-277-5538. No deposit will be required, but all bidders are asked to return their Bidding Documents within fifteen (15) days after opening of bids. Each bid shall be submitted electronically through the documents provided at www.bidexpress.com with an uploaded copy of the bid security as set forth in the Instructions to Bidders. Bid security shall be agreed upon as the measure of liquidated damages which Owner will sustain by failure, neglect or refusal of bidder to deliver a signed contract stipulating performance of the work in unqualified compliance with Contract Documents or furnish the required 100% Contract Performance and Payment Bond within ten (10) days after receipt of Notice of Award. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of forty-five (45) calendar days after the date of opening. The Board of Regents, State of Iowa seeks to provide opportunities for Targeted Small Businesses in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 73 of the Code of Iowa. This project has a participation goal for certified Targeted Small Businesses. The participation goal of 10% is specified in the Special Conditions. By virtue of statutory authority, a preference will be given to products and provisions grown and coal produced within the State of Iowa.
