The 97th Maintenance Squadron has a request to purchase a C-17 EngineMaintenance Platform. Following is list of the salient characteristics the platform musthave:Specifications:1.Must fit under and around a C-17 Engine, 24 feet for Inboard Engines (not including detachablestand) and 30 feet (not including detachable stand) for Outboard Engines.2.Must allow access to the entire engine including access to and from the inlet via a detachablestand.3.Modular based, welded aluminum construction, slip-resistant diamond deck top (working surface).4.Manual, adjustable interconnected jacks with a 5,000 lb lifting capacity, drill operated to liftplatform up to 30 inches.5.Minimum of 4
each high-capacity, low roll resistant casters, polyurethane wheels with swivellocks and wheel brakes.6.Adjustable deck sliders with rubber bumpers to close off the open area when not installed aroundan engine.7.OSHA-compliant rails with 4” kick boards and adjustable handrails to enclose the area betweenthe stand and engine inlet.8.Adjustable ladder to access working surface of stand with auto-closing safety gate.9.Shop air connections attached to the working surface platform rails in a minimum of 3/5 2 easy-to-access locations, plumbed to the base of the stand for air supply input.10.Electrical outlet attached to the working surface platform rails in a minimum of 4 easy-to-accesslocations, wired to the base of the stand for electrical supply input.11.Minimum of 6 each portable LED stand lights, capable of being easily repositioned for variouslighting needs.12.Minimum of 2 each portable worktop trays for purpose of supporting technical data laptops.13.Minimum of 2 each slip resistant aluminum work steps (1 each 2 step, 1 each 3 step).14.Work Bench on back end of stand (sets on working surface) to store parts and performmaintenance.2.C-17 Engine Maintenance Platform will be used during every C-17 Home Station Check for inspection and maintenance of the C-17 engines. It will also be used facilitate unscheduled maintenance on aircraft towed into the hangar.
