Power and Data Enabled Rail

The U.S. Army, Army Contracting Command-New Jersey at Picatinny Arsenal, NJ 07806-5000 is conducting a market survey / sources sought notice on behalf of Project Manager Soldier Lethality (PMSL) for a Power and Data Enabled accessory rail for small arm weapons. The purpose of this market research is to identify industry’s capability to develop, manufacture and deliver a Power and Data Enabled rail that provides transmission of power and data using a Universal Serial Bus (USB) compliant communication protocol to/from/between weapon rail mounted accessory devices across all sides of a weapon including, but not limited to, sighting systems, pointing systems, illumination systems, and fire control systems. The Power and Data Enabled rail should allow power and data to be conveyed within the mounting geometries of weapons managed by PMSL. The Power and Data Enabled rail should allow for utilization of centralized power and data transmission between interconnected electronic

devices.SUBMISSION INFORMATION: Interested companies who believe they are capable of providing a Power and Data Enabled Rail are invited to indicate their interest by providing the Government a brief summary (i.e. no more than 5 pages -- not counting prior contract history) of their company’s capabilities, facilities, personnel and past manufacturing experience (if applicable). Companies are invited to indicate their capabilities by providing specifications, brochures, manuals, reports, demonstration video and other technical data as well as identification of current customers.
