Solicitation Name : Twin Valley Behavioral Healthcare – Registered Nurses (2) and Temporary Program Workers/Orderly (6)– Temporary Staffing Solicitation ID : SRC0000005501 Summary : The Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services – Twin Valley Behavioral Healthcare is seeking temporary staffing agency(s) to fulfill temporary staffing for Psychiatric/DD Nurse – (2) Registered Nurses and (6) Therapeutic Program Worker’s/Orderly’s. Temporary staffing needs on the weekends, starting second shift (2:30 pm) on Fridays through 3rd shift on Sundays (shift starting at 10:30 and ending at 6:30 Monday morning). Shifts are either 8 or 12 hours in duration.Registered Nurses will be responsible for:Assesses & Evaluates nursing & medical needs of patients who are hospitalized (e.g. admissions, ongoing treatment, discharge); initiates & directs implementation of nursing care plan; observes, evaluates & records patients behavior, condition & response to medication, treatments & therapeutic
activities; provides professional nursing care (e.g., administers medications & treatments as ordered by physician, educates patient on medication(s), assists with physical examinations, takes & records vital signs, performs venipuncture); responds to emergency situations.Directs delivery of evaluates psychiatric & nursing care of patients as delivered by professional & nonprofessional staff (e.g., licensed practical nurse (i.e., LPN) therapeutic program workers (i.e., TPW) on assigned shifts, monitors LPN medication administration, documentation, patient care & operation of medical equipment (e.g., stethoscope, blood pressure monitor, glucometer); precepts & provides support for nursing staff assigned.Prepares, review, implements & updates records/reports/plans (e.g., individual treatment plans, incidents, restraints/seclusions, nursing care plans, shift reports, transfers, admissions & discharges); transcribes &/or verifies doctors’ orders; writes nursing summaries; participates in ongoing performance improvement/quality assurance.Serves as interdisciplinary treatment team member, performs variety of miscellaneous duties (e.g., light housekeeping in patient areas & living quarters; identifies & reports safety concerns; attends & completes required training & educational programs; schedules units shift breaks/lunch).Therapeutic Program Worker’s/Orderly’s will be responsible for:Trains patients to function independently in self-help & daily living skills (e.g., personal hygiene; feeding, grooming, etiquette, social skills) by using variety of training techniques (e.g., behavior modification, token economy systems, hand-over-hand instruction, limit setting) according to prescribed individual treatment plan (i.e., ITP); institutes appropriate crisis intervention (e.g., verbal, physical), for unacceptable behavior as defined by ITP; implements appropriate therapeutic pre-cautions (e.g., suicide, assault, escape); organizes/conducts activities &/or groups (e.g., educational, games, crafts, walks) & ensures patient participation; assists with related scheduled activities (e.g., operates motor vehicle to transport patients to appointments, recreational, educational &/or occupational activities). Completes charting, documentation, records & reports (e.g., patient behavior & progress/regression in relation to ITP; problem areas; delivery of services to patients; reactions to medications or any unusual incidences; needs, changes or responses affecting ITP, census checks).Participates directly or indirectly in development of ITP (i.e., plans de-signed toward recovery) in cooperation with hospital clinical staff (e.g., attends meetings, communicates any alterations in patient behavior verbally &/or in writing). Performs variety of miscellaneous duties (e.g., light housekeeping in patient areas & living quarters; identifies & reports safety concerns; attends & completes required trainings & educational programs; shops for/with patients for clothing &/or personal belongings; clerical support). Process : Evaluation Process OhioMHAS’s evaluation process of responses submitted to this request may consist of up to four distinct phases: OhioMHAS’s initial review of all proposals for timely submission; An evaluation committee review of the proposals for defects and scoring; OhioMHAS’s request for more information (clarifications, interviews, presentations, and/or demonstrations); and, Negotiations or best offer requests. At its sole discretion, OhioMHAS will determine whether phases three and/or four are necessary under this RFP, reserving for itself the ability to eliminate or add phases three or four at any time during the evaluation process. OhioMHAS may add or remove sub-phases to phases 2 through 4 at any time if MHAS believes doing so will improve the evaluation process.
