SCOPE OF WORK SJHH is looking for a qualified and experienced mechanical contractor for the installation of fire/ smoke dampers to replace the existing non-functional dampers. The
non-functional dampers are located in the Juravinski Tower at the Charlton campus. The work is to be completed by Fall 2023. SJHH will supply the 18 fire/smoke dampers that will be used to replace the existing dampers as indicated in the damper schedule detailed in Appendix A - Mechanical Drawings. In general, the scope of work is the installation of new smoke/ fire dampers including re-insulation of ducting and the removal of the existing non-functional dampers. The Successful Bidder will carry out installation services as directed by the SJHH Building Services Manager or delegate. Subject to St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton’s reserved rights and privileges set out in this RFT, the Contract shall be awarded to the bidder that submitted the compliant Bid with the lowest Procurement Value. This RFT is open to all suppliers. All responses to this Request for Tender shall be submitted in English. CONTRACT REQUIREMENTS Bidders are advised of the following contract requirements for this Request for Tender: Bid Security Bid security: 10% of the Procurement Value Performance and/or Labour and Material Payment Security Successful Bidder to provide: Performance security (bond, irrevocable letter of credit, bank draft or certified cheque accepted): 100% of the Procurement Value. Successful Bidder to provide: Labour and Material Payment security (bond only accepted): 50% of the Total Contract Price. SITE MEETINGS Mandatory Site Meeting There is a mandatory site meeting scheduled. Failure of a bidder to attend this site meeting will result in the rejection of any Bid submission by that bidder. Location: St. Joseph’s Hospital, Charlton Campus, 50 Charlton Avenue East, Hamilton, Ontario L8N 4A6 (see location map attached) Date: Friday, June 2 nd, 2023 Time: 11:00AM, Hamilton time Note: Meet at the Charlton Campus main information desk on Level 1 of the Mary Grace Building. SITE VISIT ATTENDEES MANDATORY COVID-19 VACCINATION: St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton has introduced a COVID-19 Immunization Policy that is aligned with regional, provincial, and federal recommendations regarding infection prevention and screening. Effective December 14, 2021, the policy requires all Contractors working on-site at SJHH to be fully vaccinated, (apart from approved medical exemptions) and be compliant with St. Joseph’s COVID-19 Immunization Policy. “Fully vaccinated” means having received the full series of a COVID-19 vaccine or combination of COVID-19 vaccines approved by Health Canada; and having received the final dose of the COVID-19 vaccine at least 14 days ago.
