Renovation of Building 1102 Sources Sought

 The Air Force Materiel Command, Air Force Life Cycle Management Center/Infrastructure Support (AFLCMC/PZIA) is conducting market research to identify contractors experienced in the renovation and modernization of defense department facilities. All responses will be used to determine the appropriate acquisition strategy for a potential future acquisition. In accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) part 15.201(e), responses to this notice are not offers and cannot be accepted by the Government to form a binding contract. This sources sought request neither constitutes a Request for Proposal (RFP), nor does it restrict the Government to an ultimate acquisition approach. This sources sought request should not be construed as a commitment by the government for any purpose. The Government will not respond to any requests for a solicitation. The government will not reimburse any contractor for any costs associated with preparing or submitting a response to this notice.This

project is for the complete renovation of Building 1102 a 74,000 square foot administrative office building located on Hanscom AFB. The facility renovation includes the complete demolition of interior spaces to include hazardous materials abatement and the reconfiguration of the building's interior to support the proposed users' missions and to update and/or repair all of the building's systems. Interior construction includes interior finishes, restrooms, stairs, passenger elevator, plumbing, elevators, HVAC, fire protection, fire suppression, mass notification, interior electrical distribution upgrades, sustainability, and AT requirements to include progressive collapse. Exterior enclosure work includes repairs, sealing, and painting of the concrete exterior enclosure and replacement of the EPDM roof.  Site work includes the installation of site utilities and construction of concrete sidewalks.  The intent is to bring the facility into compliance with all applicable statutes, executive orders, instructions, codes and standards, including UFC 4-010-01, DoD Minimum Antiterrorism Standards for Buildings & UFC 1-200-02 High Performance & Sustainable Building Requirements. The purpose of this market research is to determine interest and capability of potential qualified Small Business, Small Business Administration (SBA) Section 8(a) Business Development Program and HUBZone Small Business, Women-Owned Small Business, Economically Disadvantaged Women-Owned Small Business, and Service Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business firms. The proposed North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 236220, Commercial and Institutional Building Construction with a size standard of $36.5M.The order of magnitude for this effort is estimated to be more than $10,000,000.00.
